  4.     FIXSIT is a tiny utility that will repair .SIT files that
  5.     are incompatible with UNSIT.EXE, the freeware UnStuff utility
  6.     for Macintosh archives.

  39.     Regardless of all else, I am honored when you choose to use
  40.     software I have written.  Whether a Creative Bits product is
  41.     a major application or tiny utility, I strive to make that
  42.     product as elegant, thoughtful, and easy-to-use as I can,
  43.     using the language most appropriate for that product.

  45.     I am also a firm believer in the shareware distribution
  46.     method. I don't cripple or hamper software I market through
  47.     this method, other than a modest shareware reminder appearing
  48.     at the start or end of certain unregistered applications.
  49.     When you purchase shareware software from me, you pay a fair
  50.     price for the value you receive, which does not include
  51.     marketing costs, major overhead costs, distribution materials
  52.     cost, or an attempt to make up for revenues lost through
  53.     unauthorized users.

  55.     Therefore, you can get full use of this package today.  And
  56.     nothing will physically prevent you from continuing to use it
  57.     long after your evaluation period has ended.  But if you do
  58.     not register this package you (1) may cause me and
  59.     programmers like me to abandon the shareware distribution
  60.     method; (2) miss out on upgrades, bug-fixes, product
  61.     announcements, and technical support; and (3) ultimately
  62.     cause the price of software to artificially increase.

  64.     Increase?  Yes.  Shareware authors have a tremendous impact
  65.     on the software market by forcing commercial developers to
  66.     remain competitive with our pricing structure.  Our ability
  67.     to bring a product to the market quickly and inexpensively
  68.     forces commercial development companies to reckon with us in
  69.     ways that are beneficial to you.

  72.     full-featured system or so small that the fair price I've
  73.     attached to it is little more than a tip you would offer on a
  74.     good meal, your registration of that product IS important,
  75.     both to you and to the computer-using community at large.
